Rules for Participation in Experiments
To participate in experiments at the Experimental Laboratory of Zeppelin University, you must first register via our online recruitment system.
Registration simply indicates your general interest in taking part.
Actual participation requires a personal invitation to a specific study.
General Rules
- Only registered participants can be invited to experiments.
- Invitations are sent by email. Only the invited person may attend.
- You must confirm your participation after receiving an invitation in order to be officially enrolled.
-
We typically invite more participants than needed. Places are allocated in the order of arrival at the lab.
If the session is full when you arrive on time, we can’t admit additional participants. In that case, no payment is issued, and you remain eligible for future sessions.
-
Additional payments depend on your own decisions in the experiment and/or the decisions of other participants.
Details will be provided in the invitation email.
-
Please bring a valid photo ID. Without it, you cannot participate and will not receive any payment.
-
Participants must follow the instructions of the lab staff at all times.
No-Show Policy
-
If you confirm participation but fail to show up on time, it can jeopardize the entire study.
-
If you cannot attend, you must cancel at least 24 hours in advance by email or provide a valid reason.
Failure to do so will result in a “no-show penalty point.”
-
Accumulating 3 penalty points will lead to permanent removal from the invitation list for future studies.
Online Experiments
Separate rules may apply to online studies. These will be stated on the respective experiment information page.
